Public Relations and Government Communications Department Raises Awareness on Voter Registration Update
The Public Relations and Government Communications Department at the Presidency of the University of Samarra raised awareness among the university community about updating the voter registry for the year 2025, through an awareness campaign organized by the department staff.
The campaign involved distributing brochures to the university’s faculty, staff, and students, which explained the concept of biometric updates. It described biometric updating as the process of updating the voter records of those eligible to participate in the 2025 parliamentary elections, specifically individuals who have reached the age of eighteen.
Additionally, the brochures outlined the reasons for updating voter records and emphasized its importance, including the necessity for accurate and correct data, such as correcting names, updating addresses, and adding new voters to ensure their right to vote.
It is noteworthy that this campaign was carried out under the directives of the Media and Government Communications Directorate at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as part of efforts to activate the role of universities and educational institutions in raising community awareness on issues that contribute to nation-building.
