Women Empowerment Unit
The Women Empowerment Unit was created to support the female staff in educational institutions so that they are able to deal with challenges, enhance their role in all fields, achieve full protection for them, and guarantee them – without any discrimination – economic, social and political opportunities that enable them to improve their capabilities.
Unit objectives
▪ Working to increase the percentage of Leader women in the Ministry of Higher Education by highlighting women’s competencies and their achievements.
▪ Developing women’s scientific capacities in higher education by facilitating and supporting their participation in local and international conferences.
▪ Enhancing women’s participation in economic development by supporting entrepreneurial projects and technological embracements.
▪ Obtaining the support of the international community and local and international organizations to contribute to the implementation of the United Nations resolutions of women.
Increasing community awareness of the status and rights of women and combating violence by holding more courses and conducting research with specialized centers.
▪ Improving the image of women in the media in all its forms, visual, audio and printed .
- Supporting young female researchers who perform distinguished research at an early age in the doctoral stage, according to specialized committees that carry out the process of selecting distinguished works for the purpose of supporting them.
▪ Work on integrating the concept of gender into the ministry’s plans and programs .
