The Chinese news agency “Xinhua” hosted Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Hussein Khalaf, the faculty member, in a report on “wood decoration” and how to preserve craft; Especially since it is one of the components of the Iraqi cultural heritage.
Khalaf spoke, “This profession that the sons inherited from the fathers, and because of wars and conflicts, and other things led to the deterioration of this craft, but some continued their decorative methods, their ways, and even their signatures.”
He added, “The use of inherited motifs in decorating contemporary furniture is of great importance in preserving the cultural and artistic heritage or implementing forms on wood, giving it special touches symbolizing originality.”
