Air pollution and its impact on plant physiology, presented in a symposium of the College of Agriculture at Samarra University

 

The Department of Horticulture and Landscaping at the College of Agriculture at Samarra University organized an in-person scientific symposium on “The Effects of Polluted Air on Plant Physiology,” delivered by the assistant professor Raad Muhammad Ali Al-Aswad – the professor – in the department.
He reviewed the diseases caused by air pollution on the plant’s physiology, whether directly or indirectly, and the harmful effects on the plant’s health.
The lecturer also presented the effect of major and minor elements, toxic gases resulting from oxidation or the decomposition of some substances on plants, and the resulting diseases that may affect many plants and lose the role of life in them.
