Department of Bilogy Sciences Organizes a Training Course on Voice Typing in Word
The Department of Biology Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Samarra organized a training course on “Voice Typing in Microsoft Word,” presented by Dr. Barda Anwar Jassim.
The course aimed to explain the concept of voice dictation and how speech-to-text technology works, in addition to outlining the steps for activating the tool in Word through the “Dictate” option in the toolbar or via the system’s audio settings.
In the same context, the lecturer explained the mechanisms of setting up the microphone and adjusting the sensitivity to ensure the highest accuracy in voice recognition. She also trained participants on using the voice commands related to organizing and formatting text, such as “period,” “comma,” “new line,” and “heading.”
Anwar emphasized the importance of speaking clearly, avoiding noise, and using good-quality audio devices to achieve the best results during voice dictation. She also reviewed the procedures for revising voice-generated texts and correcting potential errors to ensure the production of accurate and professional documents free of mistakes.
