A Dialogue Session at the University of Samarra to Combat Extremist Ideas

A dialogue session titled “The Role of Law and Constitutional Institutions in Combating Extremism” was held at the College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra, in cooperation with the Directorate of Combating Intellectual Terrorism, the South Saladin Security Directorate, and the Tadarak Organization for Human Rights and Democracy.

The session aimed to clarify the dangers of intellectual extremism and its impact on community peace, as well as the role of security institutions and civil society organizations in protecting society and preventing vulnerable groups from being drawn toward extremist ideas, especially thought that leads to terrorism.

The session concluded with several recommendations, including Continuing dialogue sessions between academic institutions and security authorities, Involving civil society organizations in organizing activities that consolidate the human spirit within the academic community, particularly among students.

It is noteworthy that the session was held in conjunction with the International Day for preventing violent extremism as and when conducive to terrorism.
