Lecturer at the University of Samarra Obtains International Design Patent
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ismail Alawi, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering for Scientific Affairs, has obtained an international design patent issued by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), an official government body in the People\’s Republic of China, known globally as the (China National Intellectual Property Administration – CNIPA), for the design titled \”Cooling Water Tanks,\” developed in collaboration with a research team from various Iraqi universities.
The patent involves a specialized engineering design to address the problem of high water temperature in tanks placed on the rooftops of buildings in countries with extremely hot climates, by adopting an innovative mechanism that helps reduce water temperature and improve its suitability for use in the summer season.
The significance of this design lies in providing a practical solution to a problem faced by many residents in hot regions, especially during peak heat times.
It is noted that experiments have shown the design\’s ability to significantly reduce water temperature compared to uncooled tanks.
