University of Samarra Achieves a Qualitative Leap in the RUR World Ranking and Advances from (40th) to (6th) Place Locally
The Rector of the University of Samarra, Prof. Dr. Sabah Alawi Al-Samarrai, announced that the university has achieved significant and distinguished progress in the Round University Ranking (RUR) global ranking, an achievement that reflects the accelerating development the university is witnessing in various academic, research, and institutional fields.
After the University of Samarra had occupied the (40th) rank among Iraqi universities two years ago, it has today succeeded in advancing to the sixth place locally within this prestigious international ranking, which represents a qualitative leap and an exceptional achievement confirming the success of the strategic plans adopted by the university in recent years.
The ranking results also showed notable improvement in various performance indicators, which contributed to enhancing the university\’s position locally and globally, and consolidating its presence among reputable Iraqi universities.
The President of the University affirmed that this achievement would not have been realized without the joint efforts made by faculty members, researchers, staff, and students, in addition to the continuous support for developing the educational and research environment, indicating that the university is proceeding to achieve further progress and excellence in line with its academic vision and scientific mission.
It is worth noting that the RUR ranking is among the well-known global university rankings, and is based on a set of indicators that measure university performance in four main areas: Education, Research, International Diversity, and Financial Sustainability, through the analysis of data and quantitative indicators that contribute to evaluating the quality of academic institutions and comparing them at the international level.
This remarkable progress confirms the growing stature of the University of Samarra and its ability to compete and achieve accomplishments, thereby enhancing the academic community\’s confidence in it and making it a model for universities aspiring to excellence and leadership.
