Training Workshop at the Department of Biology Discusses the Analytical Approach to Interpreting Abbreviations in Laboratory Analyses and Physiological Tests
The Department of Biology at the College of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Samarra organized a training workshop entitled “The Analytical Approach to Interpreting Abbreviations and Reference Values of Laboratory Analyses and Physiological Tests.” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Maarib Ahmed Shawkat, Assistant Lecturer Maisam Ibrahim Mahdi, and Assistant Lecturer Asmaa Ismail Alwan.
The presenters aimed to introduce the most common abbreviations used in laboratory analyses (CBC, blood chemistry, hormones, liver and kidney function tests, and others), explain the normal reference values for laboratory analyses and physiological tests, and clarify how to interpret elevated or decreased values and relate them to potential physiological or pathological conditions.
On the other hand, the workshop included a theoretical component supported by applied examples, which helped students link laboratory results with the clinical condition, thereby contributing to the enhancement of their analytical skills and precise scientific understanding of medical analyses.
The workshop aims to develop the scientific and practical skills of students and those interested in the research and laboratory fields, in order to advance the scientific and practical level in the field of laboratory analyses and physiology.
