Department of Physics Organizes a Training Course on the Impact of Using Virtual Physics Laboratories on Students’ Comprehension

The Department of Physics at the College of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Samarra organized a training course entitled: “The Impact of Using Virtual Physics Laboratories on Students’ Comprehension Compared to Traditional Methods.” The course was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Marwan Abdulkarim Abdulbaqi and Assistant Lecturer Sara Sajid Tawfiq.

The presenters aimed to explain the concept of virtual laboratories by highlighting their importance and comparing them with traditional laboratories. Virtual laboratories are considered digital environments that allow users to conduct scientific experiments with ease, with the possibility of repeating them multiple times and obtaining immediate results.

Abdulbaqi explained that their importance lies in the ability to conduct experiments solely through a computer, ensuring safety, reducing costs, and providing instant feedback.

For her part, Sajid focused on the possibility of integrating virtual laboratories with traditional ones, which enhances students’ understanding of experiments and deepens their comprehension of scientific concepts.

The course concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably the necessity of integrating virtual laboratories with traditional laboratories in universities, in addition to organizing training courses that enable instructors to become familiar with the platforms offering such laboratories.
