University of Samarra achieves 96% open space ratio in its campus
he University of Samarra has achieved an open space ratio of about 96% of its total campus area, reflecting its commitment to sustainable planning and the integration of academic infrastructure with green spaces.
The university explained that the master plan ensures a balanced distribution between academic and administrative buildings, internal roads, pedestrian pathways, landscaped gardens, and public open squares, all of which enhance the quality of the educational environment.
The campus also includes dedicated bicycle lanes, green corridors, and residential and service areas surrounding the academic zones, supporting sustainable mobility and reducing vehicle congestion inside the university.
The university confirmed that this high percentage of open spaces contributes to improving the quality of campus life and strengthens environmental sustainability, making the campus a comprehensive and eco‑friendly educational and research environment.
