University of Samarra strengthens efforts in organic waste treatment through partnerships and specialized centers

The University of Samarra enhanced its success in treating organic waste produced this year, which amounted to 210 tons, through reuse and recycling methods that included food leftovers, leaves, and other organic materials.
The university explained that it has established an organic waste recycling center in its initial stages, in addition to signing a partnership with the Samarra Municipality, which operates a central plant for the treatment of the city’s waste.

It is noted that these steps contribute to the production of organic fertilizers and clean fuel, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions, thereby promoting environmental sustainability and creating a more conscious and eco‑friendly academic and community environment.
