Department of Arabic language
The Department of Arabic Language was established for the academic year 2000-2001 for morning studies.
Evening studies were introduced for the 2006-2007 academic year.
Eighteen batches of morning studies have been graduated.
Twelve batches of evening studies were graduated
– Postgraduate studies (Master’s: Language/Literature) have been introduced for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Ten batches of master’s studies have been graduated
A doctoral study (Language/Literature) was introduced for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Four batches of PhD studies have been graduated.
The mission, goals and future visions of the Department of Arabic Language
Vision:
The Department of Arabic Language looks forward to making the graduate student in its department an experienced researcher who is familiar with the main sources in the Department of Arabic Language, an accomplished teacher and skilled in all Arabic language sciences, and a good citizen who feels responsible for serving the community.
Message:

General goals :
1. Preparing a righteous and faithful generation, deepening cultural awareness and linking it to the intellectual heritage of the Arab nation and its glorious history.
2. Extending bridges between the Ministry of Education and the colleges of education in the country by preparing Arabic language teachers scientifically and professionally.
Specific goals:
1. Advancing the Arabic language and caring for it in a manner that serves the integrity of the ancient language and its speakers in a well-studied scientific manner.
2. Striving to consolidate the pillars of this language and deepen its great role in uniting the Arabs as a prominent element of their national unity.
3. Working on developing behavioral skills within the framework of the Arabic language in order to enable them to perform the operations required of them in society.
4. Explanation of the living human horizon of this language among the contemporary languages of the world.
5. Enabling Arabs to have a good understanding of what they read and write.
Community service goals
1. Providing the community with graduates holding a bachelor’s degree in the Arabic language and with an observant title, as they can work in the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Ministry of Education and Endowments
2- Providing the community with qualified teachers to teach in the different universities of the country.
3- Contribution to solving scientific problems that contributes to serving the development plan in the country.
4- Cooperating with various state departments to advance the health, environmental and industrial reality by providing scientific expertise, research results and postgraduate thesis for their practical application.
Educational goals
1- Preparing a specialized staff with the basic skills and information necessary for different language research.
2- Developing the capabilities and theoretical and practical knowledge of the department’s graduates, which qualifies them to work and engage in the various state institutions that specialize in language applications and research.
3- Continuous updating of the department’s curricula in line with recent developments and scientific progress in various language disciplines to make the department’s students fully aware and keep abreast of recent developments and discoveries that are scientifically taking place in this field.
4- Preparing the department’s students in a scientific and academic manner to complete their higher studies through the topic of the fourth stage graduation research in which the student conducts scientific research for two semesters under the supervision of the department’s professors as well as the seminars presented by students to refine their talents and scientific expertise to complete their higher studies.
5- Opening training courses and holding scientific seminars and workshops for employees of state institutions related to various Arabic language topics to develop their own scientific and practical experiences in the various disciplines of the department.
Student activity goals
1. Supporting student, cultural, social, sports and artistic activities.
2. Knowledge, cultural and scientific exchange with other international universities.
3. Training students in our scientific and educational institutions during the summer vacation.
4. Seeking to conclude agreements with universities and departments corresponding to our department outside the country to send distinguished students for training and access to scientific activities during the summer vacation.
5. Holding an annual scientific conference for fourth grade research projects (graduation projects) and honoring the distinguished among them.
6. Establishing an international scientific network unit in our department for students and encouraging students to benefit from it and be informed of the latest scientific developments.
Future plan:
The development of subspecialized branches in the department, which aims to grant higher degrees for masters and doctorates in those precise disciplines to keep pace with the global development in them and raise the level of the department’s professors through training courses to hone their scientific and academic talents in various language disciplines.
