The University of Samarra is an organizer and participant in the Second International Exhibition of Science and Technology for Patents at Qiwan International University in Sulaymaniyah

 

Within the participation of the University of Samarra as an organizer and participant in the second international exhibition of science and technology for patents at Qaiwan International University in Sulaymaniyah, the vice president of the university for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed, and the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ghassan Fares Attia, were chosen from the exhibition’s evaluation committee. Also, professor Dr. Liqa Hussain Alwan, the teaching assistant at the College of Education, won patented the titled paper (Preparation and diagnosis of new compounds to get rid of the harmful dye used in radiographic imaging of human body organs in various devices), was considered as the best outstanding patent out of a total of more than 90 distinguished papers and patents.
The patent dealt with the study of the surface morphology of the prepared material using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to know the nature of its surface and to determine the shape and diameter of the prepared nanoparticles, in addition to several techniques and microscopes such as AFM, EDX, XRD, and others…
The invention aims to prepare a nano-material with superior properties to remove the radioactive dye effect used in medical diagnosis given intravenously. The study successfully tested on laboratory rabbits, and the weight of the material and other experimental conditions were determined.
