The University of Samarra – Master’s thesis looking at (Nano-gel preparation as a sterilizer for external surfaces in light of the Covid-19 crisis)

Discussed at the University of Samarra/College of Education Master’s thesis (Preparation of nano-gel as a sterilizer for external surfaces in light of the Covid-19 crisis, a physical and biological study) for the student (Bassem Fadel Mahmoud)

The study included the preparation of a binary mixture of surfactants in an antiviral plant extract in the presence of nanomaterials prepared by green chemistry.

The mixture was with different percentages and temperatures (283.15_343.15K), and the mixture’s viscosity was studied through the formation of filamentous micelles and calculating the thermodynamic functions, activation energy, and conductivity. The external surfaces of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and others, as the prepared sterilizer formula are characterized by high efficacy and broad-spectrum against microorganisms, and it also prevents the presence and reproduction of these organisms present on external surfaces for a period of up to more than a week, and therefore it can be used industrially for the low cost of preparation and the abundance of raw materials prepared from it and in a short time.

It is noteworthy that this study is one of the products of the work of the research teams that were formed by the President of Samarra University, Professor Dr. Sabah Allawi Khalaf, during the Corona crisis.
