An innovation, the first of its kind in Iraq, by a researcher from the University of Samarra registered in the International Gene Bank and the NCBI

Professor Diaa Sabah Ibrahim, a lecturer in the Department of Biology at the College of Education at Samarra University, performed and recorded the transferrin Gene-Tf gene and its sequences, determined its alleles, and revealed gene variations, using the single-nucleotide genetic morphology (SNP-Polymorphism). ) and installed as genetic markers in the International Gene Bank and the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) for two breeds of goats (local Iraqi black and Cypriot).
It is noteworthy that this diagnosis is discovered for the first time in Iraq and internationally for this animal according to this gene. It is one of the most important genetic indicators that form part of the genetic map of goats and the necessity to preserve the local animal genetic resources.
The researcher submitted the sequences to the International Gene Bank, and they were accepted and published in the International Gene Bank and the National Center for Biotechnology Information and obtained the following accession numbers:

LC658338
LC658339
LC658340
LC658341
The name of the discovered gene was TFDSI1, TFDSI2, TFDSI3, TFDSI4, as the first letters refer to the name of the gene (TF), and the last letters are relative to the name of the discovering researcher (Diya Sabah Ibrahim), noting that the gene registration included detailed information about the researcher’s workplace and sources of samples…
This innovation is an important qualitative scientific addition provided by the researcher and his department, in one of the sober knowledge additions that Samarra University has been presenting recently to Iraq, the Arab world, and the world.
