Treatment of pollutants removal, a scientific symposium held by the Department of Chemistry, College of Education
The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education held a scientific symposium on “Treatment of Pollution Removal”, on Sunday, November 28, 2021, presented by Prof. Hazem Aziz Al-Rubaie Professor of Environmental Sciences and Pollution/ Al-Qasim Green University.
It stated:
1- The most important pollutant removal treatments are chemical treatment, physical treatment, and biological treatment.
2- Production of activated carbon – and the carbonation process
3- Characteristics of activated carbon
4- Choosing the special characteristics for preparing activated carbon
5- Activated carbon applications – industrial chemistry, pharmacy, food industry, polluted water treatment, drinking water treatment
6- Methods of preparation and activation of activated carbon: chemical and physical methods
7- Factors affecting the rate of adsorption: pH, stirring and storage time, concentration, dose, and particle size.
