Assistant Professor Dr. Maha Saleh Hussein completed the Iraqi patent examiners course

 

Assistant Professor Dr. Maha Saleh Hussein – Teaching – at the College of Education at Samarra University, completed the third edition of the patent examiners qualification course, which was organized by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in the Patents and Industrial Models Directorate.

The training program for the course witnessed work and training on patent registration mechanisms according to the standards of the Global Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), which Iraq joined in 2021. The aim is to enable the Iraqi inventor to register his application globally and obtain protection from 6 developed countries, as well as training on techniques for editing patent applications, industrial models, and patent evaluation mechanisms and controls.

The course also included training on sorting applications according to the classifications approved in the International Stratberg Agreement, which divided inventions into eight basic categories and 75,000 secondary categories in various disciplines.

Forty-four researchers from various ministries and institutions participated in the course with multiple specializations and aspirations, as Hussein’s participation comes from the vision drawn by Samarra University. It seeks to achieve scientific achievements and qualitative innovations that serve the research community’s knowledge and the scientific balance in the diverse fields of solid expertise.
