The College of Agriculture at the University of Samarra offers a course with the Extension Training Center in Salah al-Din Governorate

 

The College of Agriculture at Samarra University held – for three days – and in cooperation with the Agricultural Training Extension Center in Salah al-Din Governorate / the extension farm in Balad, a functional training course entitled “Agricultural Marketing Using Modern Methods for Post-harvest Operations.”

The course, which was delivered on its first day by Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdullah Sahar – Dean of the College of Agriculture – aims to introduce the mechanisms of storing and packing dates, as well as the best methods of collecting, sorting and grading dates, using fumigation with chemicals, cooling or other processes to eliminate insects and their eggs, in addition to the need to take care of the packaging and storage of dates that increase their marketing opportunities, in line with determining the best varieties that can be exported.

The lecturers also reviewed that the provision of marketing services requires the condition of a lower cost, a better quality of the product, and an increase in sales, primarily that marketing the product will fulfill the desires of the consumer, whether it is goods or services, and bring about a change in the consumer’s convictions, and his inclination towards acquisition and shopping, as well as about reducing loss rates during the marketing stages between the producer and the consumer, by raising awareness of the optimal use.
