Afforestation Campaign in The College of Law to Support The Green Environment Sustainability
The Afforestation Unit in the College of Law at Samarra University organized a voluntary campaign for the afforestation of the college gardens, and the distribution of shade plants in its corridors; in support of environment sustainability, and the expansion of green spaces in the university and its colleges.
The campaign was adopted by Ms. (Ghufran Hamad Mohammed), the head of the Afforestation Unit, in cooperation with the Office of the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, and an elite group of faculty and staff members in the college.
As the organizers of the initiative sought to educate the university community on the role of voluntary work, especially in afforestation campaigns and the expansion of green spaces, due to the importance of green spaces in the university environment, and their positive reflections on students’ morale and their psychological states.
In his turn, the Associate Dean of the College of Law for Administrative Affairs praised the role of the Afforestation Unit, appreciating at the same time the efforts of the participants in the campaign, especially in light of the accelerating climate changes and the increasing need for a sustainable healthy environment.
