The Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs at the College of Education for Human Sciences signed two cultural and scientific cooperation agreements with the Secretariat of the Great Mosque of Kufa

In the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Education for Human Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Ismail Jasim, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Badr Lafta Najm, signed two cultural and scientific cooperation agreements with the Secretariat of the Great Mosque of Kufa and its affiliated shrines, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional partnership between the University and active cultural and scientific institutions.

The first agreement came in response to an invitation from the Secretariat of the Great Mosque of Kufa to participate in the Muslim ibn Aqil (Peace Be Upon Him) Intellectual Creativity Competition, held as part of the activities of the 18th Annual International Cultural Ambassador Festival. The competition covers a wide range of fields, including authorship, manuscript verification, Qur’anic studies, Mahdist studies, essay writing, playwriting, novels, short stories, children’s stories, and short films. The initiative aims to support and encourage the intellectual and creative output of researchers, faculty members, and students.

The second agreement focused on expanding scientific and cultural cooperation between the two parties through enriching the public library of the Secretariat of the Great Mosque of Kufa with scholarly publications authored by faculty members of the College, in addition to peer-reviewed academic journals, university theses, dissertations, and electronic research works. This initiative is expected to enhance the research environment and provide valuable scientific and knowledge resources for researchers and scholars.

Dr. Badr Lafta Najm emphasized the importance of these agreements in broadening avenues of mutual cooperation and exchanging scientific and cultural expertise in a manner consistent with the University’s mission of serving society and supporting scientific research.

For his part, Dr. Ali Ismail Jasim noted that cooperation with reputable scientific and cultural institutions represents an important step toward strengthening the College’s academic presence and enhancing its role in disseminating knowledge and advancing research and cultural activities.
