Professor Dr. Mohammed Ismail Aliwi Wins International Design Patent
Professor Dr. Mohammed Ismail Aliwi, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Scientific Affairs, in cooperation with a research team from various Iraqi universities, has obtained an international design patent issued by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), an official government body in the People\’s Republic of China, for the design entitled \”Water Tanks Cooling\”.
The patent includes a specialized engineering design to address the problem of high water temperatures in tanks placed on the roofs of buildings in countries with extremely hot climates, by adopting an innovative mechanism that contributes to lowering the water temperature and improving its suitability for use during the summer season.
The importance of this design is demonstrated in providing a practical solution to a problem suffered by many residents in hot regions, especially during periods of intense heat; experiments showed the ability of the design to significantly reduce water temperature compared to uncooled tanks.
It is worth noting that this achievement is one link in a series of successes for the Faculty of Engineering, in pursuit of scientific and academic development, and raising the university\’s level in international rankings.
