A webinar about Arab libraries, past and present

 

The Department of Archaeological and Religious Tourism at the College of Archeology at the University of Samarra held an electronic seminar entitled: Old and Modern Arab Libraries, delivered by Dr. Zainab Abdel Majeed, teaching at the Directorate of Education in Baghdad on Sunday 12/7/2020, headed by. Ishaq Yousef Hamdan,
It included the definition of libraries and their importance in ancient times and in the different civilizations and materials that made up libraries and the most prominent kings who took care of libraries and then the Islamic era and the conditions of libraries in the modern era in light of the availability of technology and what these libraries contained in the sources, documents, dictionaries and meanings as well as the mechanism of libraries in classification and registration and the emergence of electronic libraries which facilitated the work of researchers and students in their research and scientific activities, and the researcher emphasized that under the means of technology, it is indispensable for the rare books that are not found in electronic libraries.
