Dean of the College of Agriculture Participates in Doctoral Dissertation Defense at the University of Mosul
Professor Dr. Khalid Abdullah Suhr, Dean of the College of Agriculture at Samarra University, participated as a member of the doctoral dissertation defense committee held in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering at the College of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Mosul, on Thursday, December 25th.
The dissertation, titled “The Effect of Prazonilide, Nano-Silicon, and Mycorrhizae on Some Vegetative Growth and Yield Characteristics of Olive Trees of the Ba’ashiqa Variety,” was presented by student Israa Dhunoun Younis. The study investigated the effect of foliar spraying with the growth regulator Prazonilide and nano-silicon, along with the addition of the biofertilizer mycorrhizae, on improving certain vegetative growth characteristics, leaf content, soil mineral availability, and yield of olive trees of the Ba’ashiqa variety.
The study results showed that the combined use of these three factors contributed to achieving the best results in terms of growth and production.
This participation comes within the framework of strengthening scientific cooperation between Iraqi universities and exchanging academic expertise, which contributes to supporting scientific research and serving the agricultural sector in Iraq.
