In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Praise be to Allah, the Sovereign who alone is worshipped, the Possessor of bounty, grace, and generosity, the Giver of life and Creator of existence; He who is characterized by absolute self-sufficiency (al-Ṣamadiyyah) and uniquely distinguished by oneness. The angels and those endowed with knowledge bear witness to this. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, the Ever-Living, the Praiseworthy, the Lord of the Glorious Throne, the Doer of whatever He wills; the All-Enumerator, the Originator, the Restorer; He created creation, among whom are the wretched and among whom are the blessed. And I bear witness that our master Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, endowed with noble character, sound judgment, and truthful speech; he conveyed the message with precision and fulfilled the trust without deficiency or excess. Thereafter: The Department of Creed and Islamic Thought at the College strives to achieve its vision, mission, and objectives in the most comprehensive manner across all domains, while continuously developing its academic programs and contributing to community service. The Department of Creed and Islamic Thought is considered one of the long-established departments at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Samarra, and it holds particular significance due to the nature of the disciplines it offers, such as the Holy Qur’an and its sciences, the Noble Prophetic Hadith and its sciences, Islamic creed, Islamic thought and philosophy, Arabic language, English language, logic, and the study of religions, among others. The department includes faculty members of distinguished scholarly caliber and an authentic intellectual methodology, who enrich their students with these blessed Islamic sciences in a spirit characterized by moderation and balance. They seek to eliminate all that leads to extremism, excess, and rigidity by promoting values of goodness and tolerance, renewing intellectual awareness through sound reasoning, evidence, and proofs, and preparing graduates in this field to carry out this mission to the fullest extent. Moreover, the influence of this department has extended throughout the Islamic world through participation in academic research, conferences, and other scholarly contributions. The department also maintains a forward-looking vision aimed at advancing academic standards in a manner consistent with the requirements of academic quality at the levels of the bachelor’s degree, higher diploma (Intellectual Security), master’s degree, and doctoral studies.
