Department of Life Sciences Discusses Albumin and Methods of Its Measurement and Laboratory Interpretation in a Scientific Training Course
The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Samarra held a scientific training course entitled “Albumin: Its Importance and Methods of Its Measurement and Laboratory Interpretation.” The course was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Bassam Abdulhakim Waheeb and Assistant Lecturer Maysam Ibrahim Mahdi.
The presenters aimed to provide a theoretical explanation of albumin and its vital role in the human body, as well as its clinical importance in evaluating liver and kidney functions and nutritional status, in addition to clarifying pathological conditions that lead to increased or decreased levels of albumin in the body.
The course also included a practical component, during which participants were trained on methods of measuring albumin using laboratory kits, with a precise explanation of the working steps, as well as the mechanisms for reading and correctly interpreting results and linking them to various clinical conditions.
This activity comes within the department’s scientific programs aimed at developing the skills of students and laboratory staff, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of laboratory work.
