Department of Physics Organizes a Seminar on Illegal Migration

The Department of Physics, in cooperation with the Media Unit at the College of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Samarra, organized a seminar titled “From Here We Begin… In Samarra We Build, Together Against Migration.” The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Nawfal Abdul Rahman Hamoud, as part of the implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to curb illegal migration.

The seminar aimed to change the traditional path of graduates from “waiting for a job” to “creating opportunities” within their own country, in addition to reshaping mindsets through scientific disciplines that are considered the backbone of industry and not limited to teaching alone. It also emphasized local investment in the city, as it represents a rich environment with pharmaceutical companies, laboratories, renewable energy projects, and programming fields, awaiting the potential of its own talents.

The lecturer concluded the seminar with a set of recommendations for students, most notably: Do not let your mind migrate before your body, and develop your technical skills now to become a key competitor in the local job market.
“Iraq does not need our minds to leave; it needs our hands to stay.”
