Introduction:
The Scientific Affairs in the College of Education – Samarra University has been always the wide space for the output of university researchers in various fields of scientific achievements and patents, in addition to keeping pace with the scientific publishing movement, without neglecting its diverse scientific and practical aspects.
Historically speaking, this department was established with the establishment of the College of Education. The Scientific Affairs Division is linked to the office of the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs and postgraduate studies. However, the organizational structure was issued by the presidency of Samarra University in cooperation with the Planning and Follow-up Division. Organizing scientific conferences, among its tasks as an ultimately independent division, in coordination with other colleges in the university by providing it with information about the dates and addresses of conferences. Another task of the division is the planned research system- of three months periodic by encouraging and enhancing researchers’ creativity and productivity.
Besides, among the division’s other activities are the joint activities between universities and sectors such as the Ministry of Education and other departments and sectors such as
giving lectures and sustaining work development.
Vision and Mission:
Based on the vision and mission of the University of Samarra, the Scientific Affairs Division adopts a vision and mission to achieve the goals of Samarra University in keenness and interest in sober scientific research that meets the needs of the community and in encouraging various scientific activities to follow up the movement of scientific research and publishing, the development of researchers’ skills, and many diverse scientific affairs. It becomes, consequently, a basic pillar in exploring and keeping pace with the fields of knowledge development.
Goal and values:
1. -Promoting and consolidating the outputs of scientific research at the university, spreading its ethics, and striving to provide its material and moral requirements.
2 – Encouraging and motivating teaching and research cadres to raise the level of research work in the university and colleges.
3-. -Promoting scientific communication and fostering distinguished relations with universities, research centers, various state institutions and associations.
Scientific, cultural and development of cooperation with them.
4. -Developing teaching staff by adopting constructive training programs and urging professors to devote their time to scientific research at a high level and the transfer of modern technology to our universities.
5-. -Exploring the areas of scientific and cognitive development, keeping pace with them, and developing the capabilities of the knowledge and research teaching staff.
6. -Developing creative scientific activity at the university and documenting data in a unified manner for all scientific activities of the university such as conferences,Cinemas, workshops, and seminars, and follow-up and dissemination of their results to ensure maximum benefit.
7. -Sponsoring, encouraging and following up the distinguished intellectual production of the university, including books, studies, patents and other outstanding scientific products.

8. -Follow up on the publications of scientific journals issued by the various formations of the university, and work to consolidate them and raise them to the ranks of other global counterparts.
Tasks and duties
1- -Completion and follow-up of the approved system for planned, completed and published scientific research.
2 – -Sending the semi-annual and final positions of the activities and activities of the planned and implemented research sections.
3 – -Circulating conferences and seminars received from the ministry or universities to the university faculties and the changes in them and urging professors and researchers to participate in it.
4–Follow-up the program of developing scientific expertise, teaching skills, research missions, scientific sabbaticals, courses and seminars discussion, adjust and then sending them to the Ministry.
