Government Contracts Unit
Technically, this unit is connected to the University Presidency’s Legal Department and administratively, to the Dean’s Office.
Functions of the Unit
- Establish follow-up procedures for the implementation of public contracts, including their stages of completion, and take the necessary action when a contractor fails to uphold his contractual obligations in a way that protects the rights of the university or other organization.
- Prepare tender documents (administratively) and in coordination with the Legal Department.
- Coordinating with the university’s Government Contracts Department to get permission to select the most effective method of contract execution. obtaining the necessary initial approvals in this regard and for the execution of all government contracts.
Advisement of Tenders
- Establishing opening committees and evaluating bids in collaboration with the engineering, financial, and legal affairs departments.
- Executing referral policies, creating draft contracts in collaboration with the university’s Department of Government Contracts, and performing any other duties in line with the Contracting Section’s responsibilities.
- Maintaining correspondence with other stakeholders and official correspondence.
- Archiving data about contracting practices and contract execution on a computer system.
