College of Engineering Holds a Scientific Course on Employing Research Methodology in Developing Engineering Projects

The College of Engineering at the University of Samarra organized a specialized scientific course titled “Research Methodology as a Tool for Enhancing the Performance of Engineering Projects,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Hadi Mahmood, Secretary of the College Council.

The course aimed to provide participants with an advanced practical framework for applying modern research methodology to improve the efficiency and outcomes of engineering projects. This was achieved by emphasizing the establishment of a systematic link between scientific research principles and the key phases of projects, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Meanwhile, the presenter highlighted how engineering challenges and inquiries can be transformed into analyzable models that support decision-making. He also detailed methods of collecting field data, designing measurement tools, and employing both quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques, stressing the importance of systematic analysis in diagnosing problems and comparing them with approved engineering standards.

To reinforce the practical aspect, Hadi presented real-world examples demonstrating the pivotal role of research methodology in improving prediction accuracy, enhancing planning quality, and reducing errors and costs throughout the project lifecycle.

In conclusion, the lecturer emphasized that integrating research-oriented thinking into engineering practice is a fundamental path toward achieving sustainable development, as well as improving reliability and quality in engineering performance.
