A workshop at the University of Samarra on the content management system and publishing on the university’s website

 

The Department of Media and Public Relations at Samarra University organized a workshop on the content management system and publishing in colleges’ websites, presented by Mr. Farouk Shaker Mahmoud

The workshop took place on Tuesday, 9/22/2020 at Al-Mu’tasim Hall in the College of Education, in the presence of officials of the Media Divisions and editors of websites in the colleges.

The workshop dealt with the need to take into account the scientific and technical aspects of editing and covering news and activities of the colleges and documenting it.

The workshop included setting up modern work mechanisms and plans and explaining some essential points for developing websites so that these sites keep pace with the progress made in advanced universities.

The importance of communicating the news and activities of the university was also highlighted in a professional manner that guarantees credibility and high quality in publishing the news in terms of image and text and discussing the most important challenges facing the work of the university’s websites, and ways to overcome them to achieve the goals that the university aspires to. The workshop recommended the need to pay attention to websites and develop it in a way that suits the modern vision of the university, as it is one of the important factors in evaluating the university and a major factor in determining the rank of each university in the world.

At the end of the workshop, the Director of the Media and Public Relations Department recommended the need to pay attention to marketing the scientific and academic content of the website through all available social media to transfer scientific and cultural knowledge from this scientific and academic structure to society.

It is noteworthy that the website of the University of Samarra achieved a qualitative leap in the classification of global sites, as it achieved the rank of 165,000 after it was ranked twenty-two million at the level of global sites, and its sequence 153 across all Iraqi sites according to the Alexa classification of global sites.
