The College of Applied Sciences installs solar lights

Under the guidance and follow-up of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sabah Allawi, and the follow-up of the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Aiser Saleh Muhammad, the College of Applied Sciences has installed flashlights (lamps) working by solar energy and of excellent quality and with international specifications. They are high class, and its specifications contain a high-capacity lithium battery with continuous lighting for a period of more than 12 hours, and during rainy days, it can be used for a period of 2 to 3 days (24000 mAh) and contains a sensor for movement to reduce consumption.

It is noteworthy that the use of solar energy is one of the alternative renewable energy sources, which is the next option for countries instead of fossil fuels such as petroleum and gas and others. Among the advantages of alternative energy:

– It depends on renewable natural sources that are not permeable to sunlight and wind.
– Not harmful to the environment
– More permanent and inexhaustible
– The lowest material cost of using fuel
-Lowest cost of maintenance for energy use equipment

These efforts come as the university completes the Green Matric requirements.
It is worth noting that the goal of the Green Metric classification is to measure the sustainability efforts on the campus and to create an electronic database to know the sustainability programs and policies of universities around the world.
The ranking is based on the arranging of universities on the extent to which environmental conservation standards apply.
