Officially the University of Samarra in Green Metrics
For the first time since its foundation
The announcement officially entered the University of Samarra in the Green Matrix rankings.
In a qualitative leap, and after continuous effort for a whole year, of work of more than one team under the direct supervision of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sabah Allawi, announced today the official website for the global classification through a big ceremony to announce the universities and their levels in the sustainability rating Green Metrix announced the entry of the University of Samarra after obtaining the center 822 globally and 36 locally, noting that the total of Iraqi governmental and private universities is 122, of which 59 universities have entered this classification. This great achievement came as efforts continued by the working groups and the committee concerned with this classification, which was chaired by Dr. Ghassan Faris Al-Daar, and continued follow-up by the President of the University.

It is the global green university classification that classifies universities in terms of the sustainability of their operations and the extent of their commitment to clean environment standards .. Green-Matrics ranks universities based on several criteria related to environment and sustainability within the university campus in terms of infrastructure, efficiency in energy use, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the extent of application of management principles Integrated solid and liquid waste, means of transportation and the level of the educational process.
