The University of Samarra – Researchers at various Iraqi universities are annotating new algae species at the National Center for Biotechnology Information NCBI
Within the framework of research cooperation between Iraqi universities, the research team composed of Mr. Diaa Wissam Kamel Al-Saadoun, a master’s student at Samarra University – College of Education – Department of Biology, and the two supervisors Prof. Dr. Fikret Majeed Hassan, a faculty at Baghdad University – College of Sciences for Women – Department of Biology, and Assistant Professor Dr. Wael Muhammad Mahdi, a faculty at The University of Samarra – College of Education – Department of Biology, annotating new species of algae at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).
This achievement was after investigating the types of algae in different regions of the Diyala River as part of the requirements for obtaining a master’s degree within the (experimental aspect). Noting that these species are annotated for the first time in Iraq.
