Where the symposium included the following aspects:
World Heritage Day is April 18, which is a day set by the International Council on Archaeological monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) to celebrate it every year and is sponsored by UNESCO and the World Heritage Organization for the World Day for the Protection of Human Heritage, according to the convention approved by the General Conference of the United Nations Held in Paris in 1972.
Locally: one of the important days for Arab archaeologists and societies in general, through which we renew the call for the necessity of preserving monuments and archaeological and heritage sites and protecting them from the evil hands.
As for museums and their role in protecting the cultural heritage of countries, and the most important of these museums (Basra Museum) is a model:
The Basra Cultural Museum is one of the most important Iraqi museums open at present after the Iraqi Museum, which is located in the governorate of Basra, which represents a civilizational, cultural, and educational edifice as it contains many exhibition halls that include many distinctive monuments for various periods and also a course as an educational center and its communication with the local community and the existence of a library containing thousands of rare books in the field of archaeology and we are working hard for the development and upgrading of the definition of the museum because of its clear impact on the interest in visiting museums and revitalizing their role as institutions concerned with preserving the cultural heritage of the Mesopotamian man.
