The University of Samarra – Faculty from Russian language, involved in media and political translation
The Translation Training Center of Dar Al-Mamoun for Translation and Publishing in Baghdad hosted Prof. Dr. Ammar Al-Khalisi, teaching in the Russian Language Department at the College of Arts to present a lecture on Russian translation (media-political).
Al-Khalisi talked during the lecture about the difficulties that the translator faces when translating a press or political news from one language to another, by presenting quotations from political news in the Russian language, and the methods of translating them, indicating some errors that the translator may fall into when translating, and ways to address them.
This lecture comes within the curriculum of the Russian translation course (writing – successive), which is currently being held at the Translation Training Center.
