An acceptance to publishing a joint paper in the Fourth International Conference on Materials Science and Engineering
The Faculty Abbas Hadi Abbas, Professor in the Department of Architecture, College of Engineering, the University of Samarra, received a joint paper acceptance to deliver at the Fourth International Conference on Materials Science and Engineering in cooperation with two professors from the College of Engineering, University of Anbar, to be held in Dohuk October 2021, and the paper entitled “Durability indication of concrete exposed to contact with some petroleum products.”
The paper aims at a long-term study of the effect of exposure to petroleum products such as oil, gasoline, and gas oil on the durability of concrete when stored in concrete tanks. The compressive and flexural strength of concrete samples subjected to curing treatment for these petroleum products was measured and compared with reference models treated with curing with water. The study showed a decrease in compressive and flexural strength. The study also showed the convergence of the effect of exposure of point products on reducing the resistance of concrete to compression and flexion between them.
Note that the paper will be published in SCOPUS magazine, the paper is a serious contribution to the study and enrichment of knowledge and application in Iraq.
