A master’s thesis at the University of Samarra discusses the cause of pneumonia and the identification of some factors of its virulence

The College of Education at the University of Samarra – Department of Biology discussed a master’s thesis on the isolation and diagnosis of Klebsiella Pneumonia that causes pneumonia and the identification of some virulence factors by PCR technique.

The message presented by the student (Haqqi Ismail Jassim) aimed to isolate and diagnose bacteria “Klebsiella pneumonia.”

As one of the causes of lower respiratory tract suppression, the study aimed to identify its diagnostic characteristics based on biochemical, culture, and microscopic tests according to the literature of the most important virulence factors responsible for adhesion, represented by fimbriae Type 1 and fimbriae Type 3 by searching the genes responsible for their expression, which are fimH and markD gene respectively using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and based on specialized primers.

The discussion committee consisted of
1. Dr Mahmoud Khalaf Saleh … President.
2. Dr. Omar Rahim Khalaf… Member.
3. Dr Asmaa Issa Mahmoud… Member.
4. Dr. Osama Nazem Najres … member and supervisor.
