Participation of the Associate Dean of the College of Applied Sciences for Scientific Affairs in the Master’s Thesis Discussion Committee

 

Assistant Professor Dr. (Wael Muhammad Mahdi), Dean Associate of the College of Applied sciences, participated in the discussion of the master’s thesis, titled “gold nanoparticles carrying complexes from extracts of cloves and fenugreek plants and evaluating their biological effects on bacteria isolated from patients with Diabetic Foot,” which was presented by the student in the department (Rasha Khazal Al-Taif), On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in the College of Education
The study samples were collected from patients with diabetic foot ulcers admitted to Samarra General Hospital.
The results showed the superiority of hot and cold aqueous extracts of cloves over fenugreek extracts in inhibiting ulcer-causing bacterial isolates in diabetic foot wounds.
Also, clove extracts outperformed gold nanoparticles, which did not give any inhibitory activity.
