College of Engineering Launches Awareness Campaign to Promote Energy Sustainability and Environmental Culture
The Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division at the College of Engineering, University of Samarra, through the Occupational Health and Safety Unit, has implemented a comprehensive awareness campaign targeting both college staff and students. This initiative is part of the diligent efforts to achieve the eighth goal of the National Initiative policy, which aims to spread environmental culture and raise community awareness in the field of energy sustainability by up to 80%.
The campaign featured field activities, including the distribution of instructional brochures under the slogan “Your Energy is Your Responsibility.. Consume Wisely.” These publications focused on providing an educational vision regarding the best methods for rationalizing energy consumption in its various forms, highlighting the positive impact of conscious consumption behaviors in preserving environmental resources and ensuring their sustainability for future generations.
The campaign and the distribution of introductory brochures were supervised by Engineer Mustafa Mohammed Ihsan and Engineer Yousef Zakaria Hashem. They provided a brief explanation to staff and students about the initiative’s objectives, emphasizing the individual’s role as a fundamental element in the success of the National Energy Strategy. This reflects the College of Engineering’s commitment to aligning its academic outputs with comprehensive national plans that serve both society and the environment.
