College of Engineering Organizes a Voluntary Campaign to Enhance Students\’ English Language Skills
As part of its ongoing efforts to develop students’ self-capabilities and enhance their academic skills, the College of Engineering at the University of Samarra organized an awareness-based voluntary campaign focused on highlighting the strategic importance of learning English in the contemporary era.
The campaign featured the distribution of a comprehensive introductory brochure prepared and organized by Engineer Yousef Zakaria Hashim. The brochure provided a detailed explanation of the English language’s role in elevating an individual’s scientific and cultural level. Furthermore, it outlined the essential benefits of mastering the language, such as opening broad horizons in specialized fields of study, international career opportunities, and effective communication with the global community.
The initiative went beyond theoretical aspects; the brochure provided a practical roadmap including a set of methodological guidelines for developing linguistic skills. These included dedicating time for daily reading, relying on active listening and viewing techniques, practicing speaking regularly, and making the most of modern educational applications.
Overall, these efforts aimed to achieve a pivotal goal: raising awareness among students and motivating them to adopt simple and effective learning methods. This ensures the improvement of their academic standing and increases their competitiveness in scientific and professional fields, enabling them to keep pace with the rapid developments in global science and knowledge.
