Dean of the College of Engineering Meets First-Year Civil Engineering Students to Strengthen Academic and Educational Pathways
The Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Samarra, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjed Saleh Mahmood, met with first-year students of the Civil Engineering Department for the current academic year. The meeting was held in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed, and the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Hameed Latif. This initiative reflects the senior management’s commitment to establishing direct communication with new students at the beginning of their university journey.
The Dean opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, congratulating the students on joining this prestigious scientific institution. He emphasized that the College of Engineering provides a fertile environment for developing engineering minds capable of building the future. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of adhering to high academic standards and upholding the educational values befitting students of knowledge, noting that the Deanship is dedicating all its technical and logistical resources to serve the educational process and ensure the graduation of a generation equipped with both knowledge and skill.
For his part, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs reviewed the organizational aspects related to the curriculum and examination mechanisms, highlighting the importance of scientific discipline and perseverance in knowledge acquisition to achieve excellence. Meanwhile, the Head of the Civil Engineering Department provided a comprehensive vision of the nature of the specialization and its vital importance in the labor market, explaining that the first stage represents the cornerstone in forming the personality of a successful engineer.
