Dean of the College of Engineering Leads Blood Typing Campaign: A Health Initiative Integrating Awareness with Social Responsibility
The College of Engineering at the University of Samarra hosted a specialized medical team from the Samarra Health Sector – Al-Muallimin District Health Center. The team organized an extensive, free medical campaign within the college corridors, aimed at detecting blood types and educating attendees on their vital importance in medical and rescue procedures.
The campaign witnessed remarkable official and field engagement. The Dean of the College of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjed Saleh Mahmood, was at the forefront of those undergoing the medical examination. In doing so, he provided a practical model, urging students and staff to recognize and document their blood types due to its pivotal role in emergencies and its contribution to fostering a culture of community health awareness.
For their part, the medical team provided comprehensive explanations regarding the close link between blood types and the prevention of certain diseases. They also highlighted the importance of this procedure in facilitating blood donation processes. The initiative was well-received by the college’s staff and students, who expressed their appreciation for this step that integrates academic life with health responsibility toward the university community.
