The seminar featured lectures by:
-

-
Assistant Lecturer Ishraq Abdul Basit
-
Assistant Lecturer Amal Rajab Shaker
The seminar addressed the legal, psychological, and social dimensions of the phenomenon of suicide, highlighting the seriousness of its repercussions on the individual, family, and society. It emphasized that educational institutions represent a fundamental pillar in early prevention through fostering religious and intellectual awareness, strengthening psychological support, and providing a safe educational environment based on inclusion and dialogue.
The speakers also reviewed several preventive mechanisms, most notably activating educational and psychological counseling services, developing students’ coping skills, reinforcing faith-based and human values, and strengthening cooperation between families and the university to monitor and support cases requiring special care.
The seminar contributed to raising community awareness about the dangers of suicide and ways to mitigate it. It recommended intensifying awareness programs and training courses, and integrating mental health topics into university activities to promote a culture of life, hope, and belonging, while reducing negative behaviors among youth.
This event forms part of a series of scientific activities regularly organized by the College, reaffirming its leading role in combining sound religious foundations with practical approaches to addressing societal issues.
