New Scholarly Achievement by Dr. Janan Shaker Ali
Within the framework of the ongoing academic activity at University of Samarra in supporting rigorous research and keeping pace with contemporary intellectual and technological developments, Dr. Janan Shaker Ali Mohsen Al-Samarrai, Rapporteur of Graduate Studies in the Department of Sharia at the College of Islamic Sciences, has achieved a distinguished academic accomplishment with the publication of her research entitled:
“Artificial Intelligence and the Protection of Intellectual Property in Islamic Jurisprudence and Iraqi Law: A Comparative Jurisprudential and Legal Study.”
The study was published in Al-Farahidi Journal of Arts – University of Tikrit.
The research addresses one of the most significant contemporary issues emerging from the digital revolution—namely the growing role of artificial intelligence technologies in producing literary works, artistic creations, and technological innovations, and the complex legal and juristic questions that arise regarding the applicability of intellectual property protection to such outputs.
The study adopts a comparative juristic–legal methodology that combines foundational analysis based on the general principles of Islamic jurisprudence with legal examination within the framework of Iraqi legislation. It aims to present a balanced scholarly perspective that contributes to developing sound legislative approaches capable of keeping pace with technological developments while safeguarding rights.
This publication represents a valuable addition to the scientific output of the College and highlights the effectiveness of its academic staff in connecting classical Islamic jurisprudential heritage with contemporary issues, while strengthening the presence of Sharia studies within emerging fields of knowledge.
