A Faculty Member from the Department of Chemistry Participates in an International Conference in Turkey
Dr. Bakr Ismail Jassim, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Samarra, participated in the Fourth International Conference on Scientific and Innovative Research, held in Hagia Sophia, Istanbul, Republic of Turkey.
Dr. Jassim presented his research entitled:
“Design of an Electrochemical Sensor for the Determination of Synthetic Antioxidants”.
The researcher aimed, through his participation, to fabricate an electrochemical sensor using Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), which are considered advanced porous materials characterized by high chemical stability and large surface area. These materials were further modified to enhance the performance of electrochemical sensors, providing a rapid and simple alternative to traditional analytical methods for detecting chemical substances.
The results of the study demonstrated that the fabricated sensor exhibits high electrical sensitivity in detecting synthetic
antioxidants.
