The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences is organizing a seminar on educational and psychological counseling

The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Samarra, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Educational Psychological Counseling and Its Role in Enhancing Students’ Psychological and Social Adjustment.” The seminar was presented by Dr. Suad Sabah Hussein and Assistant Lecturer Laith Atta Allah Ali.

The lecture initially aimed to highlight the importance of educational psychological counseling as one of the main pillars in supporting students, as it contributes to enhancing their ability to face psychological and social challenges associated with their academic journey through developing adaptation skills and managing stress using well-planned scientific methods.

Ali explained the role of counselors and instructors in diagnosing students’ psychological and behavioral problems, including the adoption of effective counseling strategies that help address these issues and support the creation of a safe and motivating educational environment.

The presenters also emphasized the importance of integrating the educational and psychological aspects within the learning process, which enhances academic success and contributes to building a balanced personality capable of positive interaction within society.

In conclusion, the presenters stressed the necessity of activating psychological counseling programs within educational institutions due to their direct impact on improving students’ academic and behavioral levels.
