Assistant Professor Dr. Marwan Qahtan Publishes a Scientific Paper Indexed in Scopus
Assistant Professor Dr. Marwan Qahtan Jassim, a faculty member at the College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra, and Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, has published a scientific research paper in the American Institute of Physics (AIP) journal, USA, which is classified within the fourth quartile (Q4) in Scopus. The study is entitled:
“Molecular Detection of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) in Patients with Renal Failure in Salah Al-Din Province.”
The research aimed to investigate genetic polymorphisms of the SOD1 gene in patients with renal failure in Salah Al-Din Province, and to compare the genetic distribution of these loci with that of a healthy control group. It also evaluated the role of oxidative stress and its relationship with genetic variations in the development of renal failure.
The results showed statistically significant differences in the distribution of genotypes of the SOD1 gene between patients and the control group, with certain genotypes being more prevalent among patients with renal failure.
The Department of Media and Government Communication extends its congratulations to the Assistant Dean of the College of Applied Sciences for Scientific Affairs on this scientific achievement, wishing him continued success in his academic and research career.
