Two faculty members from the College of Education for Human Sciences participated in a memorial session organized by Bayt al-Hikma in honor of the writer Lutfiya al-Dulaimi
Two faculty members from the College of Education for Human Sciences at Samarra University participated in a memorial academic session organized by Bayt al-Hikma, Department of Linguistic and Translation Studies, in honor of the intellectual, literary, and translational contributions of the late writer and novelist Lutfiya al-Dulaimi. The event was sponsored by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Qahtan Naama Hassan Al-Khafaji, and attended by the Director General of the House of Books and Documents, Mr. Baraq Ra’ad Alawi.
Professor Dr. Ahmed Hussein Ali, a faculty member of the Arabic Language Department, delivered an in-depth analytical reading of the late author’s novels, focusing on the artistic features of her narrative works, the depth of her cultural experience, and her commitment to principles that reflected her national and human presence in the literary scene.
Meanwhile, Assistant Professor Dr. Afaf Ibrahim Shaker, a faculty member of the English Language Department, presented a scholarly perspective on the late author’s translation projects, highlighting their epistemological foundations, the ethics of translation, and scholarly integrity in transferring texts, as well as analyzing the philosophical dimensions that guided her transition from narrative writing to intellectual engagement.
The session also featured multiple academic interventions reflecting the richness of Lutfiya al-Dulaimi’s experience in both literature and translation, recalling her cultural impact in the Arab world and reinforcing her position as one of the most prominent female voices of the second half of the twentieth century.
The session concluded with a series of readings and commemorations that celebrated her creative biography and intellectual contributions, emphasizing the importance of remembering Arab cultural icons and honoring their intellectual legacy.
