PhD Dissertation in the Department of Chemistry Demonstrates Simultaneous and Individual Determination of Naproxen and Diclofenac Sodium in Their Pure Forms
A PhD dissertation in the Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Samarra, titled “Simultaneous and Individual Determination of Naproxen and Diclofenac Sodium in Their Pure Forms and Pharmaceutical Preparations Using Spectrophotometric and Chromatographic Methods,” was presented by the researcher (Nada Ghaib Hussein).
The study aimed to investigate the quantitative determination of Naproxen and Diclofenac Sodium using reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) through a rapid, simple, sensitive, and selective method for both drugs in their pure and pharmaceutical forms. In addition, Naproxen was analyzed using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) in both its pure and pharmaceutical forms.
The results demonstrated the successful application of the proposed method for determining both NAP and DIC, as it showed high accuracy and precision. The method was also characterized by its simplicity, speed, and selectivity. Furthermore, the obtained percentage recovery values, relative standard deviation, limit of detection, and limit of quantification indicated that the method is accurate, precise, and highly sensitive, confirming its effectiveness for determining DIC, as well as being simple and cost-effective.
